The event theme is: established relationship!
RE:Bang is an 18+ bang remix for all STSG writers and artists! The goal of the event is to celebrate older stories and fanart by bringing them back into the spotlight. Both artists and writers are invited to join with finished, published pieces that depict Gojo and Geto in an established relationship. Participants will anonymously claim someone else’s submitted piece and create something new to match it: new fanart for older fanfic, and new stories for older art!
Because we’re asking participants to submit already published pieces, mods will look at these submissions and only accept the ones that meet our criteria. Pieces can be SFW or NSFW, and must depict STSG in an established relationship.Works that have already inspired fanart/fanfic are allowed, though we encourage you to talk to any previous close collaborators to make sure they are okay with this.If you have a piece you’d like to submit but aren’t sure if it meets the criteria, you can contact the mod team directly through our ask box or via email ([email protected]), and we’ll see what can be done. We want to make RE:Bang as inclusive as possible!
WRITERS
| Submission criteria | Bang piece requirements |
|---|---|
| Stories need to be at least 3k words long | A finished story that’s at least 3k words long |
| We’ll accept finished works only! | There is no upper wordcount limit! |
| Stories that are parts of series are fine, but they should be readable as standalones. Please keep in mind that the artist who claims your work will not be required to read the full series! | Your story can have chapters, and we won’t ask you to publish them all at once, but it must be fully written by the event deadline. |
| There is no upper wordcount limit, but keep in mind that artists may not be able to read very long fics within the event timeline. |
ARTISTS
| Submission criteria | Bang piece requirements |
|---|---|
| Any format is fine, as long as it’s a finished piece (comic, painting, animation, etc.) | At least one finished piece in any format (comic, painting, animation, etc.) inspired by your claimed fic. |
| The piece or pieces must contain enough of an idea for a writer to work with. You will be asked to talk about your piece in some detail in the submission form. | You can create cover art, scene illustrations, or come up with your own creative way to celebrate the story you claim! |
| We will accept WIPs or sketches but ONLY as additional material accompanying at least one finished piece. | You are also free to create multiple pieces for your claimed story. |
| Several pieces for the same headcanon/AU are allowed and encouraged! | |
| If you submit multiple pieces for the same AU/hc, we’ll ask you to create social media posts with all of them together. This will allow us to present your work more easily for claiming. |

Is this a mini bang? A reverse bang? An exchange? This event is all these things at once! In a way. Participants won’t experience the collaborative aspect of a bang, since claims are anonymous and will only be revealed during the posting period. You will most likely not receive a piece from the creator whose work you claim. Additionally, multiple claims will be allowed, though the mod team will prioritise making sure that each participant’s submission gets an equal amount of love.In short:
- Each participant, artist or writer, submits up to two pieces for the event. These have to be finished, already published works. We welcome works that have been published for years!
- During the claiming period, we will showcase each submitted work and ask participants to submit 5 claims - artists will pick 5 fics they’d like to work on, and writers will pick 5 pieces of art or art sets.
- These claims will be anonymous!
Multiple claims will be allowed. We’ll ask participants how many projects they would like to commit to within the event timeframe.
- The mod team will do some matchmaking magic off-screen to make sure all submitted pieces have a roughly equal number of people working on them.
- You’ll be sworn to secrecy, but we’re planning to run fun community events to keep the spirit of collaboration going in other ways!
What falls under established relationship?
We’re not being very strict with the definition. Any piece of art that suggests STSG are in a relationship meets the criteria. For stories, we’re happy to accept those that have STSG in a relationship from the start, as well as those in which Satoru and Suguru get together relatively early on, so that a good chunk of the narrative happens with them as a couple. Secret relationships also count, and the relationship doesn’t need to be sane or healthy.
| Definitely established relationship | Probably something else |
|---|---|
| Married | Friends with benefits |
| Together for at least 50% of the story | Didn’t know they were dating |
| Secret relationship | Got together in the last chapter |
| Cheating | Getting back together |
If the getting together moment is the climax of the story, it’s definitely not an established relationship fic.
Who is allowed to participate?Anyone! We do have some requirements for submissions due to the chosen topic of the event, but aside from those, everyone is welcome. Participants do have to be 18 years of age or older, because the event is open to NSFW pieces.
Can I submit a recently posted work? While the idea behind the event is for people to submit older works, to celebrate existing art and writing and infuse it with new life, participants are free to submit any work that they would like to see appreciated again.
Can I participate without submitting an older work?Possibly! To sign up as a participant, you will have to submit at least one published work. However, we may open pinch hitter applications later down the line. Pinch hitters would be able to join the event without submitting their own work. Additionally, depending on the results of the interest check, we may open the event to people who want to create something for the event without receiving a piece in turn.
What am I expected to create if I sign up?Writers are expected to create at least one finished fic that’s at least 5k words long (or 3k, depending on the interest check results), and artists are expected to create at least one finished piece of art in a format of their choice. You can check the Requirements section for more details.
Will I be able to work with a piece that matches my preferences?Yes, but you’ll be expected to make sure of that yourself. Since participants will be working with finished pieces, there should be no surprises. You will be able to look through all the submissions and pick the ones that suit your taste.
Does the piece that is submitted to be remixed have to be something that I wrote and published on my own account, or can it be something someone else wrote that I love? While we absolutely love the idea of participants celebrating other people’s work in this way, we would need those creators’ explicit permission. By default, each participant submits their own work, and in doing so they agree to having their work used as inspiration by another creator. We care a lot about creators’ comfort and want to protect their right to say no to participating in the event. That said, we’re open to discussing cases like this individually. We would need the creator of the submitted piece to message us directly and give their permission
Are we allowed to submit a piece that only implies STSG?Since the theme / topic of the event is “established relationship”, we are looking for art and stories that show Satoru and Suguru explicitly in a relationship. However! If you, for example, have a finished piece that implies the relationship but can add sketches to it that expand on it and make it explicit, you can submit those pieces as a set.
Are there rules about STSG having to be together at the end of the story or can the ending be ambiguous/canon compliant? We will not enforce happy endings. As long as STSG are together for a significant portion of the story, you can have them break up at the end, die, be tragically separated by other means, or leave things open to interpretation.
Are both SFW and NSFW fics alright?Yes! The event is 18+ because we want participants to be able to submit and create any kind of work they want. NSFW stories and art are perfectly okay! However! We care a lot about participants’ comfort, and we know how personal our connection to art we’ve made can be. In the submission forms for writers and artists, there will be questions allowing participants to state whether or not they’re comfortable with their work inspiring NSFW or dark content. And if their answer is no, the mod team will make sure their wishes are respected.
Submissions for RE:Bang will be open from March 8 till April 4 ⏳We hope to review all submissions and send all Discord invites by April 4. If you don’t get a reply by then, please contact us through our ask box or on any of our social media profiles.
There are three forms: one for artists, one for writers, and one for people who want to participate without submitting their own work (labeled as: no submission). If you want to submit both your writing and art, please fill out both forms! When you submit the form, you will receive a copy of your answers in your inbox and you should be able to edit them if you so choose. However, please don’t change your answers without a good reason, as the mod team will be getting through them one by one, in the order we receive them, and we might miss your changes. If we notice that something is wrong with or missing in a submission, we will contact you and ask you to make changes. Our ask box remains open for questions!
